Pick up from the hotel lobby and depart to Pai Town by mountain road along the 762 curves of picturesque scenic routes passing the several beautiful northern mountains and valleys. On the way make a short break and relax at the local coffee shop. Arrive at Pai Town and visit to World War II Memorial Bridge, built in 1942 by Japanese troops who chose Pai as their military base.
Drive up to Yun Lai Viewpoint and enjoy the panoramic view of Pai town. Continue to Santichon Village; one of the Chinese communities migrated from Yunan, China. The village showcases reproductions of traditional Chinese clay houses, and there are a few tiny shops made of mud and clay selling tea by the bag or by the pot, where they also often run tea-tasting sessions. Lunch served at the local restaurant.
After lunch, take time to visit Nam Hu Temple, where a sacred Buddha image which topknot contains holy water and can be opened. Depart to Coffee in Love, one of the iconic attractions in Pai Town with the yellow cottage was built for the movie “Love in Pai”, and was later converted into a coffee shop that has now become famous.
Enjoy your own coffee breaks and the beautiful scenery. Walk up to Pai Canyon, narrow red ridges with steep-sided valleys, both sides filled with pine and dipterocarps forests. The steep 50 meter drop either side and stunning views over the surrounding countryside are impressive. Then transfer back to Chiang Mai.
